One should be tolerant because it promotes understanding and respect for different perspectives and beliefs. Tolerance helps to create a more inclusive and harmonious society by allowing individuals to coexist peacefully despite their differences. It also encourages open-mindedness and empathy, fostering a sense of unity and cooperation among people from diverse backgrounds. Ultimately, practicing tolerance can lead to greater acceptance, cooperation, and mutual appreciation among individuals and communities. **

While tolerance is generally seen as a positive trait, it is possible to be too tolerant in certain situations. For example, being overly tolerant of harmful behavior or allowing others to take advantage of you can be detrimental. It is important to set boundaries and stand up for oneself when necessary, rather than being excessively tolerant to the point of enabling negative behavior. Additionally, being too tolerant of intolerance itself can perpetuate harmful attitudes and actions. Therefore, finding a balance between tolerance and assertiveness is important in maintaining healthy relationships and promoting positive social change. **
